As my 65th birthday approached, I found myself asking a simple question:
What is the most important thing I've learned?
After decades of chasing goals, worrying about tomorrow, and carrying yesterday a little longer than I should have, the answer became surprisingly simple:
Life is here. Life is now. It's the only solid ground.
This song isn't about pretending life is easy. We've all known heartache, disappointment, and uncertainty. But somewhere along the way, I realized that peace isn't found in reliving the past or trying to control the future. It's found in fully embracing the gift of this moment.
I finished writing and producing this song on my 65th birthday. More than any song I've written, it feels like a summary of what life has taught me.
My hope is that, wherever you are in your journey, it encourages you to slow down just enough to notice the people you love, the beauty around you, and the life that's already unfolding.
If it does that, then this song has accomplished exactly what I hoped it would.
